To give your bed a fresh new look as often as you’d like without spending a lot of money, start with your sheets. Mix and match solid-colored fitted and top sheets with pillowcases in various patterns. When you make your bed, play up the colors and patterns in your sheets. First, fluff the fitted sheet and top sheet by giving them a good shake. Then tuck them in tightly all around so that they are both taut. Fold the edge of the top sheet at the head of the bed neatly over your coverlet or blanket. Finally, fluff your duvet and fold it back so that it rests across the foot of your bed.
To finish off the bed, stack your pillows on top of or behind one another (use four standard pillows for a queen bed and six standard or four king pillows for a king bed). Place a pair of color-coordinated neck-roll pillows, breakfast pillows or accent pillows in front of your sleeping pillows to create an inviting, luxurious-looking bed.
